It’s 4:30am on a Monday morning. Your alarm goes.
As you roll over to turn off the alarm all you can think about is the 10 sessions you have to coach today.
You slowly get out of bed. “It sure would be nice if I could drink a cup of coffee and not have to rush out the door”, you mutter quietly.
You throw some clothes on, brush your teeth and head out the door to train your first clients at 5:30am. It’s going to be a long day... never-mind a long week!
You’ve got a great group of clients you truly care about. It’s a blast training them. They leave after each training session with a big smile on their face. And you do too... until they leave.
You’ve been putting on a good game face. But deep down you are tired, worn down, stuck and can’t ever find time to do other things you enjoy.
The 40+ hours a week you are spending training clients is taking a toll on you. To make matters worse you can’t find the time or energy to market and grow your business. There’s no time to do events and get your name out in the community. Some days are a struggle to return phone calls and answer emails.
It’s this vicious cycle that you can’t seem to break. Each morning you convince yourself that this is just the grind you have to put in to get to where you want to be.
But let’s be honest here for a moment. How much longer can you really do this? Not only are you working yourself into the ground, there’s no financial payoff for all your hard work.
You’re barely able to pay the bills. You don’t have the money or resources to hire help. Most months you can’t even pay yourself.
I know exactly how this feels. Three short years ago this was my reality. I was on the verge of trying to change careers as I could barely pay my apartment rent.
From the outside everything looked great. I owned two gyms, worked long hours and was always giving off the perception that life was amazing. But on the inside I was struggling more than you could believe.
14 hour days were the norm. I was doing everything from training, cleaning, selling memberships, answering phone calls, marketing, etc. I lost touch with all my friends. There was no time for hobbies. Many days I wouldn’t eat dinner until 10pm... all alone in my apartment physically and mentally drained.
It got so bad that one night on the way home from work, I started crying uncontrollably. I was in the middle of serious breakdown. That moment I vowed to give myself 3 months to turn things around or I was done with the fitness industry. This was not the life I dreamt when I got into the fitness industry.
The 2017 TT Summit was a couple months away. I’d been a part of Turbulence Training for a couple years, but never truly utilized the resources and connections at my disposal. I started using the system, connecting with other Turbulence Trainers, and then finally attended the TT Summit in San Diego. And that was the weekend where everything changed.
I left that two day event with an equivalent of a 4 year degree. Seriously!
In that two day event I learned...
Those were just a few of many major breakthroughs I had that weekend. Now I had to do all the work, but the foundation was laid and I had a proven formula to follow and execute. Today I’ve got two more gyms in South Carolina, 12 employees and revenue near 500k.
If it wasn’t for Turbulence Training and the TT Summit in 2014, I can honestly say I would no longer be in this incredible industry.
It might be easy to say, “you just got lucky and that’s not the way it works out for most trainers.”
I chose this industry because I’am passionate about helping people. I cannot explain how much Turbulence Training (and everything it provides) has dramatically helped me as a fitness business owner. The summit has given me the practical platform skills and confidence, I needed to succeed. All the presenters at the summit provide so much valuable information and experience. I am constantly learning something every day from the various presenters.
By being in a room with a group of people that have done what I want to do it has had a huge impact on my business. We exchange ideas and strategies as well as learning and developing different business and fitness techniques and methods. Turbulence Training is a HUGE part of my success over the past few years! - Lesa Gutenkunst 2013 - CTT Trainer of The Year
When I attended my first TT Summit I had just 2 clients. I knew nobody in the fitness industry, and frankly I was too clueless to know what I didn't know. As a natural introvert I also was terrified of being in a room full of people I didn't know. One of the first people to take me under his wing and give me a warm welcome was Ray Ortiz, one of the first handful of CTTs. Ray made me feel comfortable, introduced me to some others and I was off and running.
That first Summit opened my mind to so many ideas that helped me become a better trainer and opened the doors and paved the path for me to eventually open up my own business. Fast forward to the present, where I've been able to bring my team into the TT family, and TT continues to be an integral part of our philosophy in striving to always help our clients achieve the best results possible. - Brent Neevel
I attended my first TT Summit 3 years ago and it was the best decision I made for my career. I was just starting off as a trainer and the TT Summit gave me a lot of great insight on how to actually BE a trainer. Interacting with other trainers, the energy, the presenters and the overall atmosphere got me so pumped about making the decision to be in the fitness industry. The TT Summit put me on the path to becoming a great Coach and Entrepreneur. - Nestor Flores 2014 - CTT Trainer of The Year
Before getting coaching from Turbulence Training, I was training 10 hours per day in a big box gym. Clients were inconsistent, and I barely had money to pay my bills at the end of the month. In 2011 I decided to take a huge risk and attend the TT Summit. I was extremely nervous and had no idea what to expect. But let me tell you it was hands down the best decision I ever made. It’s given me a whole new way of approaching my fitness business and personal life. I now run two Bootcamps and gym in Lapeer, Michigan and have become a hometown hero for my community. I now live the dream fitness lifestyle helping hundreds of people in my community improving their lives while working just a few hours per day. Literally none of this would have been possible if I didn’t attend the TT Summit and get involved with Craig and the TT Family! - Brian Kalakay
Many Trainers don’t understand that there are two skill sets required to run a successful fitness business. Obviously it’s important to be knowledgeable in all aspects of fitness, but what’s equally important is having actionable steps to profit from the business. It’s necessary to bring in and keep clients, get referrals and grow. With the help of Craig and Turbulence Training I’ve gone from spending 30+ hours per week IN my business (i.e training) to less than 10 hours spent ON (marketing, team building, etc.). In addition to providing me with invaluable fitness related info, they have provided step by step guidance in how to acquire clients, keep them satisfied and refer their friends. This is the lifeblood of any business. I highly recommend anyone to take the opportunity to attend the TT Summit and works with leaders in the fitness word. - Shawna Kaminski
Following my Figure Competition in 2010, I was perusing the Internet looking for new workout ideas. I believe I typed “workouts for people with no time” into the search engine. I was tired of spending hours in the gym after 20 weeks of contest prep! Google led me to Turbulence Training and it changed my life. Several months before my competition, I had gotten certified as a personal trainer with hopes of working part-time at my favorite gym. I quickly realized this kind of training was lacking magic, and folks weren’t interested in training bodybuilding style.
A few months later, lucky for me, Craig Ballantyne opened up the TT Certification and I jumped on it. I signed on to be one of the first 50 Certified Turbulence Trainers. Now I had access to all of the workouts and could give them to my clients, saving me time with the confidence that they would be getting top-notch programming. After several years of training clients with Turbulence Training, I’ve had over a dozen enter and win money in the TT Transformation Contests. I learned the value of creating an experience for my clients during each workout.
Perhaps even more important than that, though, is the support that I, as a trainer, got with my TT certification. Each month, Craig sends us interviews, summaries of training and nutrition research, new workouts and marketing ideas to inform, motivate and inspire us to grow as trainers and work harder to help more people. His mission to help change the lives of 10 000 000 people resonated with me and as I gained experience and built my clientele, I realized that I could do more. I started to consider the possibility of leaving my “day job” (I was a lab technologist) and training full-time.
Attending the 2014 TT Summit solidified my desire to open my own studio and I started planning in earnest to do so. After several years of being a TT trainer, I finally started using the discussion forums that we have available to me and began asking questions of Craig, Dani Woodrum and other CTT’s who have “been there, done that”. The support was/is unbelievable. I had numerous obstacles to overcome, including the loss of my would-be business partner, struggles with securing my lease, and the biggest, my own self-doubt. Throughout it all, the people on the TT forum, and especially Craig himself, have provided no-nonsense advice, encouragement and “tough love”.
In October 2015, I opened ProActive Fitness, Saskatoon’s only training facility dedicated to the mature client. Taken what I’ve learned we have gone from a dozen or so clients to 75 small group and private training clients and are still growing in a few short months. I’ve quit my day job and started living my dream job – changing the way Saskatoon ages, one client at a time! None of this would have happened had I not made the decision to attend the 2014 TT Summit. That weekend, I got to rub elbows with fitness industry superstars like Shawna Kaminski, Sean Barker and Alwyn Cosgrove and meet people just like me who had traded in their 9 to 5 life for a more meaningful career as a fitness business owner. It was the catalyst I needed to start really believing in myself, to reach out for the support I needed and inspired me with confidence that if all these others could do it, I could, too. - Shelley Turk

My life since becoming a Certified Turbulence Trainer (CTT) has been an amazing adventure. I enjoy being part of the TT family. Yes, I said family. I enjoy connecting with Craig and some of the other TT trainers on the TTmembers.com site (which is included when you become a CTT). It has been an invaluable experience to ask questions and get answers to my questions. It doesn't matter the subject. I have asked questions on training, nutrition and fitness business related. I get encouraged and inspired daily.
After the TT Summit I was so pumped up! It was amazing meeting the Cosgroves. It was great to see Craig and meet more of the family such as Shawna K, Mikey Whitfield, Dani Woodrum, Kate Vidulich. It was great to meet a lot of the trainers I had connected with on the TT member site in person as well. Catherine Gordon said, "Pinch me" That was great because I felt the same way. It all felt like a dream but it wasn't. It has been an adventure and I know I have only had a peek into what my future is unfolding to be.
The TT Summit in San Diego was springboard into opening my own store front. I owned a fitness business and had been training out of a big box fitness gym. When I got back from summit, I set to work! I found a location and with some advice from the TT family, I negotiated a lease on my own location. My business is doing great. I am amazed at the support I get from TT. I ask questions and I get the support I need to grow my business. Don't get me wrong....It wasn't easy and it required me to get out of my comfort zone and work hard! Being a CTT rocks!
Shawn Stevens, CTT
The 2017 TT Summit is for anyone who has a passion for fitness.
This incredible weekend is for non-trainers looking to learn more about the fitness industry. It’s for beginners who are considering starting their own bootcamp one day but would like to learn more about the business first. It’s even for advanced trainers who are looking to gain a competitive edge and learn the most recent cutting edge workout/business systems to stay at the top of their game.
Whether you are like Shelley a few years ago who had a passion for fitness but didn’t know how to turn that passion into a career…or you’re like Brian, Peter and Chris who are experienced trainers looking to network and take their business and career to the next level – the 2016 TT Summit is for YOU.
I've been to all the top conferences and summits around in the fitness industry. The TT Summit is the only conference that gives you industry leading training content combined with top notch business building advice that you can implement the very next day. Combine that with the inspiration behind the TT mission, it's a weekend and a mission I hope you accept, so your drive to be the best fitness professional you can be doesn't self destruct.
- Sean Barker, CTT
I attended the first 3 TT Summits, so I know firsthand that Craig and the team always brings in some great presenters and puts on an awesome weekend! But the best thing about the event is the ability to meet so many other successful fit pros and form friendships that will benefit you long after the event. If you're looking for information that will help you grow your business, especially in the online space, then I know you will not be disappointed. And it's in Denver, so you can't go wrong!
- Scott Rawcliffe, CTT
I learned about Craig in 2010 when I bought his Turbulence Training manual. At the time I had just left Gold's Gym as a trainer and started my own personal training business, which was barely generating enough income for me to live on. Through friending him on Facebook I discovered Bedros, and together they helped me totally transform my business. I went from having only about 20 clients buying packages of sessions, worrying about people not renewing, and only making a couple grand a month, to now having two Fit Body Boot Camp locations, with over 400 clients, that generate $50,000 per month. And I am opening up my third location in two months! Craig and Bedros have taught me how to market, sell, and get clients great results, so they stay, buy more, and refer! They both speak at the TT Summit, which is an event where I not only learned how to take my business to the next level, get my clients results, and get MORE clients, but also an event where I got to network with some of the top fitness professionals in the world, which is invaluable. Now I am able to reach out to other successful fitness pros across the country, anytime, for tips and ideas, because I met them at the TT Summit. Overall Craig puts on a very professional, organized, fun and content rich event that can help anyone take her business to the next level if she just implements what he teaches.
- Stephanie Flynn, CTT
Traveling almost 9000 miles to attend a 2-day fitness summit may seem like a waste of time when there are plenty of fitness seminars being held in India. However, take it from someone who has been there and attended it, the TT Summit is not your run-of-the-mill fitness summit.
The TT Summit proved to be a game changer for me. It was truly humbling to be part of an event that hosted some of the biggest names in the fitness world. Moreover, rubbing shoulders with, learning from and being accepted as part of the fitness family by such heavy weights as Alwyn and Rachel Cosgrove, Bedros Keullian, Todd Durkin, Jason Ferruggia, Brad Pilon and, of course, the Godfather himself, Craig Ballantyne, was an incredibly fulfilling experience. It was phenomenal to witness the passion with which they pushed each other in all aspects, celebrating their successes and continually striving to better themselves. The TT Summit was so much more than just a fitness summit, it was responsible for a change in mindset for me. It made me realize that if I was to accomplish my dream of becoming a successful personal trainer I had to take action and hold myself accountable for my decisions. In all honesty, I had doubts whether I could actually be successful in this business but the TT certification with regard to the business aspect is unique. Through the TT trainers I met and the online TT members forum there is so much positive energy and willingness to help that you don’t feel alone in your endeavors. Having made lifelong friendships with the people I met I now look to strengthen those bonds as well as make some new ones by attending the TT Summit 2017 and beyond. The network of professionals and the connections I made have enabled me to successfully launch my personal training business in India, help people change their lives and so contribute to the Turbulence Training 10 Million Mission.
Craig has promised that the TT Summit 2017 will be even better and why would I doubt him when he has delivered not only with his workouts and fitness tips, but also with his advice and mentorship. The TT summit 2017 will be no exception, it will be exceptional.
- Gilroy D'Souza, CTT
Prior to becoming a Certified Turbulence Trainer, I literally didn't have a fitness business. I was passionate about health and fitness, but didn't want to become just another trainer at the gym. For years I gave up on fitness as a career option. That's until I heard about the TT Certification. It stood out not only because of the world class training information, but also the help and guidance you receive to grow your business. After becoming TT Certified, I opened up my own boot camp and created an online fitness business where I sell my workout programs around the world.
In the past year and a half alone, I've trained over 1,300 people in person and online. Prior to being TT Certified, that number was 0. The certification has had a huge impact on my business and I would have never gotten started if it wasn't for TT.
